چکیده

This contribution derives the theoretical asymptotic performance of successive interference cancellation (SIC) and parallel interference cancellation (PIC) decoding schemes in the context of Linear Precoded OFDM systems. Linear Precoding consists in multiplying by a N K isometric matrix a K-dimensional vector obtained by serial to parallel conversion of a symbol sequence to be transmitted. Using new tools, borrowed from the so-called Free Probability Theory, the Signal to Interference plus Noise Ratio at each iteration of the non-linear detection process is derived when N ∞ and K N α 1 assuming both ergodic and non-ergodic fading channels. These asymptotic results aim at adjusting the different parameters involved in the two decoding schemes.

The Spectral Efficiency of Linear Precoders

Recent results on the asymptotic empirical eigenvalue distribution of sum or product of matrices, based on the Free Probability Theory, have enabled the study of the asymptotic limits of Linear Precoded OFDM systems with MMSE equalization for ergodic and nonergodic channels. In this contribution, we extend these results to the MMSE Successive Interference Cancellation detector with realistic ch...

Parallel-SQRD for Low Complexity Successive Interference Cancellation in Per-Antenna-Coded MIMO-OFDM Schemes

In recent years, communication systems with multiple antennas at the transmitter and at the receiver have gained considerable interest. Layered architectures like the V-BLAST scheme are a strong candidate to exploit the capacity advantages of multiple antenna systems leading to practical wireless communication schemes with very high data rates. The combination with orthogonal frequency division...

Performance of SDMA multiuser detection techniques for Walsh-Hadamard-spread OFDM schemes

Multiple reception antenna assisted Space Division Multiple Access (SDMA) techniques designed for wireless OFDM systems have recently drawn wide interests. These techniques facilitate the implementation of effective multi-user detection algorithms at the receiver, such as Minimum Mean-Square Error (MMSE) detection, Successive Interference Cancellation (SIC), Parallel Interference Cancellation (...

Coded Linear Precoded-OFDM versus COFDM: an asymptotic analysis for MMSE equalizers

In this paper, analytic expressions of upper bounds of the bit error probability provided by the MMSE receiver are derived for OFDM based systems when the number of carriers is large enough. Considering convolutive Forward Error Correcting schemes and QPSK constellations, it is shown that coded Linear Precoded OFDM (LP-OFDM) outperforms Coded OFDM (COFDM) if the input SNR is greater than a thre...

Successive Interference Cancellation for MIMO UW-OFDM

Unique word orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (UW-OFDM) is a new signaling concept which has better spectral properties and also a superior bit error ratio (BER) performance over conventional cyclic prefix (CP) based OFDM. In UW-OFDM, the CPs are replaced by deterministic sequences, the so-called unique words (UWs). So far, the performance of UW-OFDM has been well investigated for sing...
